The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Onuimo LGA Chapter, recently paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Dr. Emeka Paul Obi, Executive Chairman of Onuimo LGA.
Speaking at the council during the country visit, Amb. Princewill Confidence Ndubuisi Ekeogu, Chairman of the NYCN, Onuimo LGA Chapter, welcomed Hon. Dr. Emeka Paul Obi onboard as the New Executive Chairman of Onuimo LGA.
This he did on behalf of the Youth Council and informed him that the NYCN decided to visit him to familiarize with his leadership, inform him about their upcoming "Onuimo Youth Day," and plead for an administrative office in the LGA.
He emphasized that having their office situated in the LGA was crucial, as it has already been implemented in some LGAs across the state.
The Chairman also reiterated that the youth council is solely the property of the government and works in synergy with the government, recognizing Hon. Dr. Emeka Paul Obi as their superior leader in Onuimo LGA.
He congratulated Hon. Dr. Emeka Paul Obi on his resounding victory in the just-concluded Imo LG Election.
In his rematks, Hon. Dr. Emeka Paul Obi assured the NYCN of an administrative office in the LGA and charged them to remain independent and eschew moves that would compromise the integrity of the apex youth body.
Hon. Dr. Emeka Paul Obi, also pointed out his past involvement with the Youth Council as a vibrant Patron of NYCN Okigwe Zone adding that the familiarity with the organization is undoubtedly an added advantage for Onuimo NYCN.
He further assured the youth council of his support whenever they beckon on him.
Prominent dignitaries present at the meeting included Hon. Ibegbu Eugene Kelechi, Vice Chairman of Onuimo LGA, the SECLOG Designate,members of the Legislative Council, Onuimo NYCN Delegates among others.
