A total of 1,56o Corps members have been deployed to Bayelsa State as part of the 2023 Batch 'A', Stream stream II for national service.
The Bayelsa State Governor,Senator Douye Diri,while welcoming the Corps members to the state during the formal opening / swearing - in ceremony presided over by the Acting State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Maltide Abrakasa Ayemieye. the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Boro Town, assured of adequate security and welfare.
Gov. Diri, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chairman, NYSC State Governing Board, Hon. Alabo Gideon Ekeuwei, the State Government will not also tolerate truancy, absenteeism and lateness to work at corps members places of primary assignments.
He also enjoined all to ensure they are counted and also take the sensitization to their respective host communities.
In her remarks, the State Coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity thanked the Governor, government and good people of Bayelsa State for support to the Service Corps and for commencement of work on the two additional hostels approved by the Governor.
