Bayelsa NUJ Under My Leadership Will Foster Collaborations.

 

Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha, Chairman,   Nigeria Union of Journalists,  Bayelsa State Council, has assured that the council  under his leadership will foster collaboration among stakeholders to expand the media space and reposition it to meet evolving challenges in the state.

The  chairman who  applauded the support of the Bayelsa State Government and other critical stakeholders for their various roles that made the just concluded Bayelsa Media Summit a huge success, 

In a statement  at the weekend on behalf of the State Working Committee and the State Executive Council of the NUJ, the Chairman, Tonye Yemoleigha said the NUJ owes the success of the Bayelsa Media Summit to the supportive roles played by actors within the media space, especially the State Governor,  Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

 Tonye Yemoleigha said the NUJ at both the State Council and its National Secretariat is pleased with the robust partnership between the Union and the State Honourable Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy,  Ebiuwou Koku Obiyai while commending her proactive management of government information in the state; and development strides of the Prosperity Administration in key sectors.

The State Council Chairman noted that the Summit provided all news makers a platform to synergize and redefine the Bayelsa media space through positive engagements and reportage rooted in development journalism and social responsibility.

The statement further appreciated the Bayelsa State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere; the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Nimibofa Ayawei; heads of security formations and para-military in the state, resource persons; members of the academia; traditional rulers, the clergy, the National Youth Service Corps; students of tertiary institutions; Tantita Security Services Ltd, Civil Society, the NBA among others.

He thanked members of his Executive, former chairmen, elders and veterans as well as all Journalists in the State for their resolve to institute a Paradigm Shift in the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bayelsa State Council.
