Governor Douye Diri, of Bayelsa State, has formally announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.
This was contained in a post done by Daniel Alabrah the Chief Press Secretary to the governor on his Facebook Page.
He was said to have resigned with the
Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Abraham Ingobere, alongside with all the PDP members in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
The source also disclosed that all the Executive Council Members have also resigned to follow their Principal.
A reliable source disclosed that the governor made the declaration on Wednesday during the Executive Council Meeting.
The source however didn't mention the party the governor is moving to.
Recall that rumour has been going on that the governor was billed to decamp to the All Progressive Congress on the 14th of October, 2025 but it never happened.
