Bayelsa NAWOJ Calls On Parents To Make Their Wards Available For Immunization

 


 The Bayelsa State chapter of  Nigeria Association of Women Journalists on  Tuesday called  on parents and care givers to make their wards available  to enable  them  complete their routine Immunization.



NAWOJ disclosed that the  children are between zero to five years old.



In collaboration with Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board among other  Development Partners, the group stated that the immunization programme  tagged "The Big 

Catch-up"known as All RI Antigens are to protect children from different types of disease such as Measile, Polio, Malaria, Hepatitis, Uellow fever among others.



According  to the Grace Orumieyefa, the chairman of NAWOJ, the immunization  will hold from February eleven through Sunday the sixteen 2025,  in Yenaoga, Southern Ijaw, Ogbia and Sagbama. 


 NAWOJ urged parents and care givers  to take their children to any Health Care Center close to them for the Vaccination.



NAWOJ  the chairman  said is appealing to everyone to join hands with the Primary Health Care Board  to make the Bayelsa child free from diseases and stay healthy.


Also, the Deputy Director of Health, primary health care board, Dr. Clement Angalabiri, said Penta, PCV, IPV. POPV are part of vaccines to be given during the  process.



Recall that the Big Catch-up is aimed to address the increased immunity gaps from the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure that children receive the necessary vaccinations to safeguard their health and wellbeing, thereby reducing the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases in the state.
