Be Intentional When Doing Business: Abu-Bello Advises Baylesa Women

  




Dr. Mercy Abu- Bello,  a business consultant  and women empowerment  coach has advised Baylesa Business Women, to be  intentional when doing business  maintaining that being intentional in business helps to bring about business sustainability.


 Speaking on Monday in Yenagoa during a business empowerment and sustainability training sponsored by First City Monument Bank through  their platform known as Sheventures and anchored by  Dr  Abu-Bello a business coach cum author,  she advised the women to always think about growth, increase and excellence in their businesses disclosing that they should differentiate between emotions and business.


Stating that about 42 percent of Nigerian women are in the micro business category, the business coach adviced that if one must run a business, you must run it with a business mindset.


 She advised Baylesa women that  are into businesses to be open to learn new strategies, disclosing that there are so many opportunities to leverage on now that the government is interested in empowering the women.


Abu-Bello said: " If you must run a business the way it should be,  you should be intentional because business is all about resilience. If you want to go into business as a woman, you must separate business from emotions."



"Women  are natural care givers, it is a major hindrance but you must separate business from care giving and if you are able to do this,  you will be able to grow in business."



"A business is a business and an entity. It is quite different from you  and until you start thinking like that, and  differentiate your business money from your own money, that is the only time you will start achieving result."


She advised the women not to focus on the challenges that come with businesses stating that "there will always be challenges "but you must have it at the back of your mind that you must overcome them."


She revealed to the women that there  are so many intervention funds available for women presently maintaining that " women should put on their thinking cap, be open to information and decide what you want to do with your life."


Speaking earlier, Nicholas Peter, head  of small and medium  scale enterprises  of First City Monument Bank,  who welcomed all, revealed that the women can assess loans from FCMB at a zero interest rate.



He said that: "We are doing this because we want to see a lot of women grow in business."
