Traditional Ruler Launches ETF After Coronation

The pomp, pageantry and outcry of emotions exuded by citizens, guests and friends who came to witness the formal coronation ceremony of Snr. Comr. Eniya Moneyman Nengibo as the new Paramount Ruler of Opolo Epie Community, Yenagoa- Bayelsa State knew no bounds when the King stepped out to make his well awaited inaugural address shortly after the coronation rites. 

Acknowledging the peaceful conduct of the electoral process from where he emerged as the King - elect, Chief Nengibo pledged to work for the collective good of the community and its people.

To show that he truly meant business, the King immediately announced the establishment of an Education Trust Fund that he remarked is meant to help carry the financial burdens of youths from the community who are desirous of going to school but lack the financial capacity to do so.

Clearly in support of the noble scheme, guests, friends and chiefs of the community  present in the arena did not hesitate to donate cash while others pledged sums totaling over #6 million ( Six million naira).

Speaking while launching the scheme, HRH King Eniya Moneyman Nengibo, the Ogborogbo XII stated that the objective of the  Education Trust Fund is to provide   "the necessary support to youths who are handicapped by finance to cater for the tuition and associated expenditure required for their education ".

The fund, the Monarch noted, will equally cover the needs of those who will prefer to acquire skills than the other well known mode of education.

The King believed that with majority of the youths in the community properly schooled and positively engaged in their desired skills and vocations, there would be a reduction in the number of young men and women roaming about the streets constituting a nuisance or menace to other members of the society in Opolo or elsewhere.

In addition to the Education Trust scheme, the Paramount Ruler announced that the hitherto discriminatory practice against women during sharing of whatever government, corporate organizations/ institutions gifts the community would no longer be practice.

His reign, he assured, would ensure that the yet to be developed lands across the Epie Creek is developed for the overall benefit of the community.

He urged all to therefore support and cooperate with him and the Council of Chiefs to see that peace, security and prosperity for the community and its people becomes what everyone from far and near will know is associated with Opolo Epie community.
