Koluama Clan Thanks Diepreye Amadein For His Peaceful Disposition.

  

 

 

 

The People of Tamazo Community in Koluama Clan in Southern Ijaw Local Government of Bayelsa State have appreciated His Highness Diepreye Amadein for his peaceful disposition, steadfastness and handwork in making sure that peace reigns in Tamazo Community and the entire Koluama Clan.

 

 This was as the community once again called on the Bayelsa State Government to beckon on His Royal Majesty, Solomon Ebifatei Edi  to stop parading himself  as the Ibenanawei   of Koluama Clan.

 

The community alleged that the traditional ruler has been using his position to oppress some community members and corner what supposed to have come to the entire community from the Oil Companies operating there to himself and family.

 

Chief  Diepreye Amadein who spoke to  the press on  Friday on behalf of the community people  alleged that  as a result of the Majesty’s way of leadership, there  has not been any  visible development in the clan alleging that Conoil which is the major oil company operating in the clan has seen that as an avenue to use  do divide and rule game thereby shortchanging the people.

 

 This development he said has led to series of misunderstanding in the clan, prompting the youth of the community to recently engage  in a protest against the oil company.

 

They also called on the state government not to recognize the  Petroleum Industry  Act Committee (HCDT) which they alleged was  inaugurated at Warri to  supposedly work for the Clan  instead of in Bayelsa State. According to him, the orchestrators went to Warri in Delta State to  inaugurate the committee to the surprise of the Clan.

 

 Ameidein said “ We call on  Bayesa State Governor and the Traditional Rulers Council of Bayelsa State  to please remove Solomon Ebifatei Edi as the Clan Head of koluama. 

 

 

“This man supposed to be dethroned and we are calling on the government to dethrone him and disband this his council so that we bring in new people and there will be peace in Koluama land.

 

 “ HRM,  Solomom Ebifatei Edi and his council of chiefs cabinet whose tenure expired ten ago are running the Koluama Clan  like their personal business.

 

 

“Tamazo 1 and 2  communities water front is not tiled. We  don’t have concrete road, no  drinking water, no electricity and the Conoil is opposite this community. Tamazo  community is supposed to be treated as a host community to Conoil.

 

“What is happening to us in Tamazo and Koluama in general is worse than wickedness. Oil companies have been operating in our area for over fifty years but there is no drinking water n Koluama. No job employment, they just monetized everything with the oil company.

 

“Recently Solomn Edi in connivance with Conoil has gone to inaugurate the PIA committee at Warri  contrary to what the federal government representative came to Bayelsa  on the 30th of April to tell us.

 

“ Approximately over 200 billion naira has passed through these people and nothing to show for it. He said.

 

 

Also speaking, Salvage Bravery  a  former youth precedent  of Koluama  2 alleged  that the majesty has been on seat for fifteen years  before the arrival of Conoil.

 

 

“The company has been operating there for almost thirteen years, no employment. Edi  monetized all the employments including their service companies. There is no physical project that Conoil has embarked on to help their host communities in Koluama Clan.

 

 

When  this reporter contacted Solomon Edi to speak   on why they should take the PIA inauguration to Warri, he said  “ I’m not the one that took the  inauguration to Warri. They should ask  Conoil. I’m not the owner of Conoil so they should ask Conoil and not me.

 

 

“I was not even informed that the inauguration was even taking place. They told the members of the committee to go and do the inauguration with the elders and chiefs of the community. Please they should count me out of that arrangement.

 

On the  call for his removal, he said that  they are the ones that installed him so they cannot remove him.

 

“They have already taken the matter for my removal  to court. Why are they still going to the press? He asked.

   

When this reporter put a call across to Richard Adebai, the Public Relations Officer of Conoil Nigeria Company, his phone rang out without any response.
