Fans and colleagues of John Okafor have been devastated by the news of his passing, with many taking to social media to express their condolences and share memories of the talented actor.
The death of Victor Okafor filtered in on Saturday 2nd of March, 2023.
The 62-year-old actor was said to have passed away at Evercare Hospital, Lekki, Lagos, after suffering a cardiac arrest it was learnt.
Confirming the sad news, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas Ejezie, wrote on his Facebook page: “Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr. Don Single Nwuzor.
“I announce with a deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace.”
In October 2023, the veteran actor, known for his versatile acting skills and comic roles in numerous Nollywood films, was reported ill and needed financial assistance.
