Strengthening The Bond Of Imo PDP Through The Akpovi's Travesty.

 

As as the quest for who mounts the Governorship seat of Imo State gathers momentum, camps are being dismantled while some are being built especially between PDP and APC.

The Governoship is just by the corner, November 11,2023. There seems to be so much tension in the air but eventually one person must be declared the  winner of the election. 

And with that Onwuasoanaya  FCC Jones wrote this Opinion.

You do not need to be a wonderful political pundit to know that part of the reasons those who orchestrated the judicial travesty against Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere at the Justice Akpovi led National and State Assembly Election Petition in Nasarawa State was to attempt to dilute the formidable unity of purpose within the Governorship Campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State.

Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere's appointment as the Director-general of the SamJones Campaign Organisation threw the APC camp into serious confusion, and I am personally privy to efforts made by some individuals to try to blackmail Ikenga into declining the appointment, including reaching out to some powerful people within the presidency and the leadership of the National Assembly in an attempt to get Ikenga to step down from the position. But, Ikenga is a man of his words and a man who has unwavering faith in championing the interest of his people.

It could be presumed that the decision to allegedly buy off the tribunal judges for whatever amount in the world it would take, came after all entreaties to the Akokwa born political activist failed to sway him.

 The idea could be to sack him, and let the heavens fall, even when the reason for the purported sack is glaringly untenable.

The 3R media and propaganda department has not spared any efforts in making anyone who cares to know that Ikenga didn't contend with the law in his outing at the tribunal, but with anti-democratic forces led by a man who pays the bills of the 3R hirelings. 

Their messaging makes no attempt at equivocation, but bluntly blurts out the complicity of Capon Di Tuti di Festac.

There is definitely a directive for this injustice to be exploited in order to destabilise the Make Imo Safe Campaign setup, by mischievously digging up old graves. But, those who embark on this mischievous adventure do not know Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere very well. 

Ikenga is not petty and he is not the kind of political leader that takes decisions in a haste. He thinks things through. He is also very experienced in Nigerian politics that this outcome, as unfortunate and unexpected as it is, couldn't have taken him completely unawares. 

He knows that he is in a fight against diabolic and highly corrupt individuals, who would go to any length to get even with him. 

He has escaped many assassin's bullets and he knows that many more shall come as long as he continues on the path he is threading.

If anything, this minor setback would further embolden Ikenga's resolve to work assiduously towards ensuring the victory of the PDP in the forthcoming governorship election.

 He knows that any attempt at slacking back would be tantamount to endorsing Uzodimma's second term. 

Uzodimma cannot eat his cake and still have it. He cannot obtain Ikenga's support for his illegitimate second term through treachery or intimidation. 

Ikenga will lead the march for Uzodimma's eviction from his illegal occupancy of Douglas House, and there is no amount of  revisionism that would derail that. 

To be sure, Ikenga has already set the machineries in place for a total displacement of Uzodimma come November 11th, and there is no going back on that.
