Dr.Amba Ambaiowei Laid To Rest Amidst Tributes And Eulogies

 

The remains of frontline Ijaw Nationalist Leader and a successful medical practitioner, Dr. Amba Ambaiowei has been laid to rest at his home town, Bietebi-Ama in Amassoma  amidst tributes and eulogies.

In his funeral sermon, the Bishop of the Anglican Communion, Niger Delta West Diocese, RT.Reverend  (Dr.) Akpotunumubofa Nixon Enekeme titled " Begin To Number Our Days When Alive"  which was delivered at the St.Stephen's Anglican Church Ikoki-Ama in Amassoma stated that life is like a plant that start at birth.

Taking his text reading from Psalm 90:16, RT. Reverend Akpotunumubofa Nixon Enekeme urged everyone to number their days when alive and live a good life that will inspire generations yet unborn.

He noted that death is a necessary end to every mortal, emphasizing that the date and manner it will come is not known.

The Man of God enjoined believers to live a holy, righteous and honest life to have eternal life.

He described the deceased as a fearless,  humble, compassionate, objective and benevolent leader who impacted positively on lives.

He placed on record that late Dr.Amba Ambaiowei bought the first generator for the church in Amassoma adding that all the pastors serving the church benefited immensely from his kind gesture.

The President Council of Knights, Niger Delta West Dioces, Dame Ebimie Okara presented the Knightwood sword of the deceased to the Bishop of the Diocese who in turn handed it over to the first son of Dr. Amba Ambaiowei, Dr. Tariladei Amba Ambaiowei.

Speaking to Journalists at the grave side,children of the decease namely, Engr. Mrs. Ebiere Daunimigha, Dr. Tariladei Amba Ambaiowei, Dr. Tonye Amba Ambaiowei described their father as a caring, loving and a disciplinarian who inculcated in them hard work, respect and tolerance.

 They said they will continue to remember their father for the training that have made them great.

Also speaking, former Commissioner for Works Bayelsa State, Engr. Charles Ambaiowei described  the deceased as a thorough bred Ijaw leader who was truthful and spearheaded the Niger Delta struggle for resource control and. self determination particularly the Bayelsa State creation.

He expressed displeasure over the apparent absence of official Bayelsa State Government presence at the burial of late Dr. Amba Ambaiowei who sacrificed his all to actualize the creation of the only homogeneous state for the Ijaws.
