We Are Shaping A Competitive And Collaborative Energy Future: Lokpobiri

 

The Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, (Ph.D), has reaffirmed Federal Government’s commitment to building a competitive and sustainable energy future.

This he said will be achieved through deeper collaboration and innovation between government and industry players.

Speaking at the  weekend during a Cross Industry Group (CIG) Meeting held in Biarritz, France, the Minister emphasized that the government’s focus remains firm on increasing crude oil production sustainably, strengthening investor confidence, and fostering long-term partnerships that drive measurable growth across Nigeria’s energy landscape.

The Minister noted that the Federal Government has sustained policy reforms and created a more enabling environment for investors through fiscal incentives, transparent regulatory practices, and initiatives that encourage joint ventures and partnerships.

 These efforts, he explained, are designed to attract fresh capital, stimulate project execution, and enhance Nigeria’s position as a leading energy hub in Africa.

While commending the Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) for sustaining the CIG platform, Lokpobiri urged operators to match government efforts with renewed vigor. 

He stressed the need for operators to take decisive steps by initiating new projects, deploying innovative technologies, and ensuring that all activities align with the shared objective of sustainable production growth.

Senator Lokpobiri described the CIG as a vital platform for aligning strategies between government and industry, adding that the continued collaboration will ensure the translation of commitments into measurable outcomes for Nigeria’s energy future.
