Bayelsa NUJ Chairman Eulogizes Dad

 

Tonye  Yemoleigha, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bayelsa State Council, has described his late  father, Chief Felix Dressman Yemoleigha  Ikiri as a God fearing man who lived a good and exemplary life.

He made the disclosure at the weekend in Yenagoa when his Class 99 of Aleibiri Community Secondary School Ekeremor, paid him a condolence visit.

Yemoleigha  described his father as one that feared God and disclosed that he wasn't a perfect man but  made sure he never had serious issues with people.

The NUJ Chairman said:" The joy we have as his children is that  he lived a good life. He was not  a perfect father but  he tried within the limits that he can to live a good life.

"As a community leader, he was a devoted one. He never tampered with the community money. He lived a devoted and community service life.  His teachings were always to fear God.  My father believed in the principles of nature although he wasn't a staunch Christian."

He thanked  his Class members and everybody that identified with  his  family in this critical time adding that their coming has given him another sense of comfort.

 

He promised to involve them as the burial approaches.

Speaking earlier,  George Ezekiel Ayanka, who spoke onbehalf of the group, said that they came to sympathize with their own on the demise of his father.

He asked that the group would like to be part of the burial preparations if they will be given the opportunity.

Ayanka said:" If you give us the chance, we are ready to plan with you because the father we are talking about is everybody's father.

"Anything that we can do to support you, we are ready to do it. We are here to sympathize with you and tell you to take heart."

Also speaking, Ekakara Ebi also confirmed that Pa Yemoleigha was actually a father to all thanking God that he lived a good life.

He said:" Yemoleigha was a father to  all that are from Aleibiri Community. It is not easy to loose a loved one most especially a father who was there for you.

"Death may have come at this  time but we bless God that he got to a certain age. We pray that none of his children will live below that age.

 "We have come to tell our class mate that we will like to be part of the burial process."

 

Recall, that Chief Felix Dressman Yemoleigha  Ikiri, passed on August 15th and will be buried on November 14th, 2025 at Egweama in Brass Local Government of Bayelsa State.
