The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokpobiri, has called on the oil sector and other industries, to actively collaborate with the ministry to make the Africa Energy Bank project a reality.
The collaborative approach he said can unlock unprecedented potential and transformation.
During his discussion at Cape Town with Prof. Benedict Oramah, President of Afrexim Bank within the week, the Minister disclosed that their discussion centered on advancing support for local investors in Nigeria’s oil sector.
This he said is a critical step toward boosting economic growth and securing more sustainable funding avenues for the country's national development initiatives.
He said:" On the sidelines of AEW2024 in Cape Town, I had a productive meeting with our financial partner with APPO on the Africa Energy Bank project of which Nigeria is hosting the Headquarters."
"With Africa collectively moving in this direction, there is tremendous opportunity for growth, especially as we foster an investor-friendly environment supported by favorable policies."
