Development science and indices for development of a given people or Nation is suggestive that development must be cultivated or home grown.

 Rather than thinking that development is a bed of roses and it attainment is possible in mere talk chop, conferences, platform or embarking on voyage across the globe. 

Development and developing is a detailed process that is built up of innermost strength firstly,  before partnership drives is considered. Not necessarily too hopefully with the presence of mineral potentials and deposition. 

Thus, Hon 0foni D WILLIAMS  note, " That mineral potentials, deposition and discovery become valued, vital until human knowledge is applied ".

Hence, the commercial discovery of crude oil and gas in Bayelsa state, Niger Delta or Nigeria is relatively meaningless until technology is employed for its transformation to earn potential potent value. 

Therefore,  the numerous voyage embarked upon by Bayelsa state government in the last thirteen years plus amount to wastage of state resources. 

More particularly, with the revocation of the  Bayelsa state oil Block that had recorded certain degree of progress and success. 

Upon the above state or situation Bayelsans found  ourselves, the only known out come of the voyages is the Bayelsa Development and Investment cooperation (BDIC) which the restoration administration said was going to  turn around the fortunes of the state. 

Despite the global noise made by Senator Dickson Seriake,  BDIC had not known to impact the state in terms of being a plus to Bayelsa state( IGR ) internal generated revenue, employment and other multiplier effect associated with such investments or add value to the state economy. 

However,  according to Senator Dickson Seriake,  BDIC was set up to drive investment,  create skills and develop a robust economy base that can with stand the shock that will come the day the oil wells in the Niger Delta run dry, including multiple claims that the new Bayelsa can only be founded on prosperity and security. 

Governor Dickson Seriake noted further that with the advancement in science and technology in the major oil consuming economy. It imperative for the state to see the issue of diversification of the economy seriously. Infact,  BDIC will turn Bayelsa state to Dubai of Africa.

In justifying the creation of BDIC by Senator Dickson. He noted that BDIC shall fill the gap such as ODUA group,  IBILE holdings by lagos state government and other entities beyond the shores of Nigeria, which include IDC of south Africa. Also noted that capital investment of the state will be undertaken by BDIC in a manner that BDIC can attract funding to projects that can add value to Bayelsa state. 

For the above, BDIC was coming into the market as a big player and enjoy Ten billion naira funding as capital injection by the Bayelsa state government. 

He also authorised the transfer of key assets owned by most other agencies and subsidiaries of Bayelsa state government to BDIC, including 53 percent stake in linkage Assurance and other acquisition made. 

1n 2013, Senator Dickson was able to pull two sitting President of Nigeria and South Africa to the opening ceremonies in Johannesburg and London. 

But with no traceable address of BDIC in the length and breadth of Bayelsa state. From all indications, there is no performance index to mirror BDIC operations despite the fact that it creation is backed by law. 

Senator Duoye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa state, 

Bayelsa state Assembly , look  other direction whenever BDIC issue is brought to fore. Upon the above, No transparency briefings had noted the impact of BDIC till date ( October 5, 2024)

This abysmal development Associated with government and governance in Bayelsa state is not the making of any known draconian laws.  But by Izonman  before lzon nation and generality world over. 

The voyages had not ended. As Senator Duoye Diri,  five years running had not attracted any known single investor to have impacted the state positively.

Rather,  Senator Duoye Diri,  is of the view that  his government had reached manufacturer of turbines and everything is in advance stage. 

The questions begging for answers is were are the procured gas turbines of Governor Timpre Sylva thirteen years ago that are yet to be installed. Why new turbines rather than firstly,  install procured one's or is it same procured turbines to be reprocured for installation. 

Shockingly and interestingly, in forward thinking of government. Metering factor is to be established with private partnership.

Understandably,  investment and development with private partners is not misplaced. 

However,  private partnership is known to erode sovereignty of a people very fast. Therefore,  government should be critical not to allow critical issues in the hands of private partners  such as productive energy production and management. 

Because, it's a taste bud for welfare and retribution of common wealth to citizenry.

 Every government all over the globe had one form subsidy and power was the major flank of subsidy in Bayelsa state in the days of late Chief Alameyesiagha led government. 

Further more, gives government strength of seriousness before investors. 

At this juncture,  the BDIC and productive energy issues the state is associated with speaks volumes of Bayelsa state government before the globe. 

Hence, Bayelsa state is said to repel investors and development by inaction and poorly rated transparency status.

Any impressive efforts at restoring power and  announcement at roof top are mere window dressing of issues.

All the energy employed in the restoration of light three months plus, ought to be directed to install our procured turbines. 

Moreso, upon the fact that the state is bless with abundant sunlight, water mass, plenty gas deposit and numerous wind belts for wind turbines, plus liquidity of the state is enough for Bayelsa state to  own  independent power source. 

Government failure all these years makes us laughing stock  but with Mr Stanley Dide is set to change the  narrative via break through of water turbine right in the state capital.. Yenagoa. 

Governor Duoye Diri, as the opportunity to surpass Senator Melford Okilo rural electrification drive with the copious development and display of Mr Stanley Dide.

 Our rural communities are in dear need of power and this is a golden opportunity, which in turn shall stem rural drift.

Mr Stanley Dide proudly Izon from Ekeremor lga needs prayers,  security and petronage from the Izon nation more particularly. 

Bayelsa should take the lead in patronising Mr Stanley Dide. 

The above is in place because we can not be continuously be self enslaved with the obvious sabotage of President  Bola Ahmed Tinubu government in power sector. 

As it's on record that the power sector had collapsed more under president Tinubu when compared to all governments put together in Nigeria within and less than two years of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led government.
