Lokpobiri Urges Bayelsa NUJ To Join In The Fight Against Vandalism And Illegal Refining

 






Heineken Lokpobiri, Minister of State for Mineral Resources (Oil),  has urged Bayelsa State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists to collaborate with the ministry in fighting against pipeline vandalism and illegal refining of crude oil.



Speaking on Tuesday at Abuja when a delegation from Bayelsa NUJ paid him a courtesy visit, he called on them to raise  awareness against illegal oil bunkery and nother forms of vices.


He commended NUJ Baylesa for  what he called exemplary leadership and professionalism.



" I urge you to collaborate with us in our fight against pipeline vandalism and illegal refining, which  has continued to harm our environment."



 "I call on you to engage in sensitization programmes to raise awareness about the dangers of these destructive acts."



" I also urge to  inform the public about the ongoing efforts of the RenewedHope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in transforming our oil sector for the benefit of all."



"I commended the NUJ for their exemplary leadership and professionalism."



"You have proven to be a valuable partner, and I expressed my support for you as worthy ambassadors, helping to convey the realities of our progress."



Speaking earlier, Samuel Numonengi, Chairman of the Council and leader of the delegation assure of the council's resolve to advance the shared vision of revitalizing the oil industry.
