The leadership of Pan Niger Delta Forum, (PANDEF), has commended Niger Delta Stakeholders for maintaining peace in the region in the face of the current nationwide protest.
PANDEF in a statement on Friday commended the leaders of ethnic youth organizations, community-based and civil society groups, activists, ex-agitators and youths in general for maintaining decorum in the face of the current reality in the country.
According to the statement signed by Dr. Ken Robinson, fcsi, National Publicity Secretary of PANDEF, it stated that in the light of reports of looting, destruction, and loss of lives in some parts of the country, none of these was recorded in the region.
PANDEF in the state however urged the protesters in some states of the region to end their protest to prevent criminal elements from hijacking the process and causing disruptions to the relative peace in the region.
"It is important to note that the point has already been made. Your voice has been heard."
"We call on the government at all levels to take necessary and urgent steps to address the difficulties citizens are facing." The statement stated.
