Community Debunks Alleged Imposition Of Monarch On Them.

The people of the Kalawei-Ama Community in the Koluama Clan of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have debunked an  allegation that their paramount ruler, Chief Lloyd Sese, was imposed on them by King Solomon Ebifatei Edi,

the king of Koluama Clan.

A  statement on Thursday signed by Mientei Sam, the chairman of the Chiefs Council, Tari Zolo, chairman Community Development Committee, Gbedi Ekubo, youth president and Ebibofa Sapere, the woman leader, described the allegations as spurious.

They said one Mr. Diepreye Amadein, who is  alledgedlly claiming to be the paramount ruler of Tamazo community, had accused Edi of unilaterally inaugurating traditional rulers in the clan.

But the statement   stated that   Sese had been deputy paramount ruler of Kalawei-Ama community for over 30 years and was elevated after the death of the paramount ruler of the community, Chief Vincent Sapere in 2021.

They accused Amadein of bringing the traditional stool into disrepute by saying Sese hails from Foropa community and not Kalawei-Ama community.

The statement noted that the paramount rulers, councils of chiefs and the people of Koluama clan has a law that prescribes how traditional rulers emerge adding  that the law has not been breached in the emergence of the paramount rulers.

The statement reads:“If Chief Loyd is not from Koluama clan, how come he served as deputy paramount ruler of Kalawei-Ama Community for over 30 years?”

"Edi was not instrumental to the emergence of Sese as deputy paramount ruler and acting paramount ruler of the Kalawei-Ama community.

"We therefore urge members of the public to disregard the unfounded story, suggesting that Sese was a native of Forupa. He remains the only recognized acting paramount ruler of Kalawei-Ama community. The statement concluded.
