Kingsley Muturu is the new National Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme for Phasee ii Ex -Agitators. He was a Candidate of All Progressive Congress ( APC) Bomadi State Constituency in the 2023 General Elections. In this brief interview, he narrates what prompted him to want to serve under PAP phase ii as the national Chairman. Excerpts.
How do you see the conduct of the election that led to your victory as national chairman of the phase ii ex agitators?
The election was peaceful, free and fair. It is a clear sign for all the leadership of the phase that we have decided to come together to promote unity and form a united front to pursue the goals of the phase.
Once again thank your supporters?
I thank all leaders and the entire phase ii members who saw the reason for this election to be conducted. The phase has vision. By His grace, with the experience of the leaders around me in unity, we will achieve them all.
What words do you have for your opponents?
I don't have any opponents, please. Those who contested with me are my friends and co-leaders in the phase.
Indeed, we are all one. The election has come and gone. Now, it is time for all of us to work together for the betterment of the programme.
So how do you intend to carry them along?
I will reach out to all of them and bring them together for us to form the think-tank of the phase.
How do you the see the programme under the present Administration?
Dr. Dennis Otuaro is a seasoned administrator, academic, professional and core machinery of the struggle. He is the best that ever happened to the programme like his predecessor, leader, Kingsley Kuku. I have the believe that the current administrator will improve on the programme and take the programme to a greater height that it deserves. He would bring unity to all leaders in the programme. He would make sure that the essence of the programme would be achieved. All we need do is to pray for him and work with him.
Now that you are the National Chairman of phase ii, what advice do you have for your boss, Dr. Dennis Otuaro?
Well, in my tenure as the national chairman of phase ii, I will work with him to make sure that he succeeds and I thank Mr. President for giving him this appointment. On this note, I advice him to be accommodating and carry everyone along. Moreover, he should take his time to study the office and Initiate policies and strategies to effectively drive the programme home. He is a leader who believes in participatory administration. So, I believe, he would engage all the stakeholders in the programme for the progress of the programme.
