Lokpobiri Commends Schlumberger For Coming Back To Nigeria

 

Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of States for Petroleum Resources (Oil) has  commended Schlumberger for its longstanding contributions to Nigeria's energy sector  reiterating  Federal Government's support for the company's operations.

This was the minister assured Schlumberger of every necessary support from the Federal Government to facilitate their operations, highlighting the collaborative spirit between Nigeria and one of its most influential oil and gas partners.

Speaking on Thursday in Abuja when 

Olivier Le Peuch, the CEO of Schlumberger and his team paid  a courtesy visit on him where they announced plans to   resume operation in Nigeria with a plan to expand business activities in the country,  Olivier Le Peuch, announced that the visit  was aimed at rekindling the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Schlumberger.

Special  Adviser Media and Communication to the Minister stated   that the company has significantly shaped the nation's oil and gas sector from its early days.

 The statement reads in part "The return of Schlumberger with a promise of increased investment is a testament to the positive changes and opportunities in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas sector under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration.

"We are strategically positioned for greater partnerships that guarantee mutual benefit.

"Schlumberger’s decision to invest more in Nigeria will undoubtedly excite Nigerians as the oil sector remains the quickest means to resolving our economic challenges. More investment is essential for our economic growth.

Also speaking, Le Peuch echoed the minister’s optimism stating that  "Schlumberger is excited to re-invest in Nigeria. We recognized the country's potentials and are committed to contributing to its energy landscape as we have done in the past.

"This development aligns with the minister’s broader objective of attracting more investments from International Oil Companies (IOCs) to Nigeria. The pledge from Schlumberger is seen as a significant step forward in these efforts. The statement concluded.
