The Students of Hensard University, Toru -Orua, Bayelsa State on Monday resumed academic activities in anticipation for the graduation in few years time.
In a statement on Wednesday signed by the university's Public Relations Officer, Chief Sony Neme, the statement read that the founder of the institution and Chancellor, Senator Seriake Dickson led a team of Deans, Heads of Departments, other management and staff on a facility tour to ensure all top-notch facilities are well in place for a hitch free take off.
To kick start the academic activities proper, Henry Seriake Dickson cheered the students up assuring them that all neccesary measures have been put in place to make sure that their stay is a memorable one.
The Senator representing Bayelsa West senatorial district, gave kudos to the university management and staff, saying, "As you can see, all is set for the historic take off of Hensard University, with the massive resumptions of our students.
The statement reads in part "Gladly our facilities are well in place. I decided to visit all the key facilities and I'm impressed with what I have seen especially the world class facilities in our classrooms and hostels. I commend the management and staff for a job well done.
Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Dileep Kumar, was full of praises for his management and staff for keeping faith with the university's resumption plans and wished all well.
He continued" I wish to express my satisfaction with the student's massive response on the resumption day. I wish you all well as start your academic journey to greatness.
The excited students had earlier been driven to their respective hostels, after their successful screening and documentation, as the management and staff worked tirelessly till late Monday night to ensure that each student were attended to.
Student Affairs officer, Mr. Chidubem Onuegbu and other admission officers were also seen engaging on a team work and ensuring that all went well in their respective duties
Among the facilities visited were classrooms with smart boards, which were displayed to the admiration of all, the female and male hostels respectively.
Recall that Hensard University which is the first private university in Bayelsa State, with a global standard, started its first academic session this week, while plans are on the way for the students to have their matriculation at a later date.
