Bayelsa Local Government Chairmen Receive Certificate Of Return

 











The Bayelsa State  Eight Local Government Area Chairmen  and their  Vice Chairmen on Monday received their Certificate of Return as a symbol of authority to operate  when they are eventually sworn in.



Recall that the Bayelsa State  local government election was conducted on the 6th of April 2024 with the all the candidates of People's Democratic Party winning all the seats.





The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also clinched all the  councillorship positions for the one hundred and five wards.


The names of the local government chairmen are Bulodisiye Ndiwari for  Yenagoa local government,  Febo Lucky  is for Brass local government area,  Golden Jeremiah emerged winner for Ogboa local government.



Others are  David Alagoa, the immediate past Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources for Nembe local government  while Target Segibo  is for Southern Ijaw LGA.





Lelei Tariye is for  Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Onniye Isaac is for  Ekeremor LGA  while Alice Allen-Tangi is  for Sagbama Local Government Area.




Issuing the certificate of returns to the chairmen and their vices at the NUJ Press Center Yenagoa, Peter Singabele the Chairman of  Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission (BYSIEC) thanked them for coming out victorious.



He regarded the ceremony as a brief one adding that the same ceremony will also take place on Tuesday for  the 105 councillors.



He said " On behalf of BYSIEC, I  heartly welcome all of you to this solemn ceremony. Similar ceremony will be performed  in the eight local government from tomorrow  for the councillors who were elected.




 "This is a brief ceremony but very important.  This is the last step on the part of BYSIEC in the 2024 elections.




" When you are eventually sworn in, you can now operate as a duly elected local government chairmen and that is the third tier of the government.



 Speaking on behalf of  other  new local government chairmen, Bulodisiye Ndiwari of Yenagoa local government thanked the Governor of the state, Douye Diri and  his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo  for the opportunity given to them to become local government chairmen.





He said "I appreciate the Governor  and his Deputy, also  the party for giving us this platform  to become chairmen and vices of the various  local government  areas.




" We also thank our teaming supporters for all the  supports and Bayelsans.  We promise to do our best and serve you faithfully  and we promise that governance at the grassroot will get better.
