Senator Benson Appreciates God For Successful Burial Of Mother

Senator Konbowei Friday Benson has expressed appreciation to God for His enablement, strength and provision to successfully conduct the funeral rites of his dear mother, Mrs. Betinah Okunwa Friday Benson (Nee Daniel Indigboro Tonwei.


The former Speaker and Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government now Senator representing the good people of Bayelsa Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly expressed the appreciation while testifying to the mercies, goodness and grace of God upon his life, family brothers and sisters to bury their mother in one accord at the auditorium of the Church Of Nigeria (Anglican Communion, Ecclesiastical Province of Niger Delta Diocese of Niger Delta West, St.Luke's Deanery, Korokorosei founded 1907.


He started the testimony by singing Nana-owei fereme Ebikamie- ka-dei in thousand, thousand times.


In his words" I thank God for today, especially my wife, Mrs. Ayibapreye Konbowei Benson, she has been my backbone front, back, centre and sideways. He thanked Elder Forcados whom he described as his political leader both physical and spiritual,..




 He noted that they both used to attend retreat and that was how they built their faith.




Others Senator Konbowei Friday Benson appreciated include Mr. Isaac Benson, the only surviving younger brother of his late father,  his senior sister, Suoton Opufuoni, T.S Bazighe, Ikoro,  Andy Beke-obiri, Robertson Mark one of the pillars, Andrew accommodation Chairman, Eric Etuwamokumo,  his women political associates from Kolokumo/Opokuma LGA, Mrs. Tebepah,  Mrs. Ebikene who he considers as very significant to our family.




Testifying further, Senator Konbowei Friday Benson hinted that he will always identify with the Anglican Church emphasizing that  their Grandfather father experienced excruciating pain of male children not surviving  at birth.

 

The Bayelsa Central Senatorial District Lawmaker at the National Assembly promised to extend his hand of fellowship to the Church adding that his support for the Church.will not cease and immediately pronounced that he will change the band set of the Church as it was not producing good sound output..

 

Senator Konbowei Friday Benson placed on record that Pastor Tombiye Yabefa,  Emphraim suffered persecution particularly Awolowo who was wrongly accused of throwing away the community idols.


He thanked the Vicar of the Church, Venerable V.C.O Oparah for giving a graphic history of the Church particularly the contributions made by his grandfather, his father and mother towards the growth of the Anglican Church in Korokorosei.


While responding to some of the demands made by the leadership of the Church for support, Senator Konbowei Friday Benson urged them to redesign the Church due to space constraint going by  the land the church is currently built for expansion.


The Federal Lawmaker advised Christians not to  compromise their faith no matter the circumstances and thanked God for giving his father and mother the wisdom to be among those that donated the land where the church is currently sitting.


He informed that the Church brought school to the community that created avenue for the people to acquire Western Education which he stated has opened the frontiers of knowledge  and produced  great men and women  in  the area..


Senator Konbowei Friday Benson concluded his testimony by singing "I no go leave this Jesus, I no go leave am oo this Jesus and  paraphrased Joshua chapter 1 and said " I and my family will continue to serve thy Lord"


Earlier the Vicar, Venerable V.C.O Oparah in his charge advised the living to take their burdens to God and always thank God no matter  the challenges as the Lord have the power and authority to deliver them from the clutches of darkness.


He advisers believers to use their resources to support the work of God.


The Man of God said Mama lived a good life, fulfilled her divine assignment on earth and is resting in the bosom of Lord.

He advised the surviving children, family members and those who were fortunate to cross paths with the deceased to emulate her virtues as a way to immortal her legacies 


On the entourage of Senator Konbowei Friday Benson were National and state lawmakers, former commissioners, politicians, party chieftains, captains of industries, the academia, chiefs, elders, youths and women  groups among others
