When Mama Emesua Egoyinbo Was Buried In Grand Style

The prayer of all mortals is for  them  to reach old age and also have somebody to bury him or her when death comes calling. And for  late Mama Egoyinbo Ayebatari Joyce, she got a befitting burial from her son in law in the Egoyinbo person of Azibaola Robert.

Born some eighty  one years ago, Mama Egoyinbo lived a good and remarkable life according to testimonies that were recorded during her burial at Kolo Town in Ogbia Local Government of Bayelsa State which of course brought together the who is who in the society including former prescient of Nigeria  Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who is also  a cousin to Azibaola Robert. Mama was however  committed to mother earth on the 29th day of December, 2023 at Kolo Town   in the midst of other activities like tug of war, local wrestling among others  to bid her farewell.

Service Of Songs In Honour Of Mama:

During the service of songs in her honour before the internment,  Reverend C.A Nwosu  had once again reminded all that death is the last pot of call for everybody.

He said “We have come today to celebrate a life well spent. Sh spent her life in God’s service and in service to humanity. She has served the Lord and committed herself to the service of God. She has played her part well.

“God brought each of us into this world for a purpose. Have you discovered the purpose of God for your life. I remind you today that there is a time when we will depart this world.

“A number of us live our lives as if we do not know the purpose of coming into this world. We don’t know  what we want to do and the time we want o do it, not minding the purpose of God concerning our lives. But there is an example we must follow which is Jesus Christ whom we must imitate.

Azibaola Robert Pours Tribute On Mama:

In his tribute to his mother inlaw, Azibaola Robert described Mama Egoyinbo Ayebatari Joyce  Emesua as a woman full of tranquility, in and out adding that she had a soothing demeanour of calmness that brought peaceful atmosphere to all that came across to her.

The CEO of Zeetin Engineering described mama as  a beautiful soul in and out maintaining that he was very lucky to have her as a mother in law.

He said “She was an exemplary woman and she deserves all the honour that she got. She was the best thing  that happened to me after my mother and  I’m burying  her today like  her son who was supposed to stand in her stead. The reason is that she had four girls like I do.

“In the time past, people craved to have male children because they needed people who have more strength to fight and conquer people and to go to war. This day, life has changed from strength to brain. People are using their brains, more than their energy and strength. So giving birth to a giant male  is as beautiful as giving birth to a lady who does fantastic work in the sciences or business or whatever and looking at the world, women are taking over.

“Women are much more trustworthy than men. So, if I have the opportunity to give responsibility, I will look at those who have the capacity to drive and achieve  results  because basically, women do have more conscience than men. Now, this is off topic,  the average man doesn’t care if he has more than one girlfriend, but the average girl feels guilty when she has more than one boyfriend, that’s honesty.

Also Eulogized Living Jonathan:

Robert said that Jonathan can become a mini god.

“When  Jonathan  lives and dies, we will worship his grave. Of course, we will build a  big monument around him and then put his grave there and attract foreign tourists.  In the whole of Africa, there is no Icon like Goodluck Jonathan. And if he lives for the next 30 years, and he dies, and you bury him in an obscure grave, you will be doing   a de-service to the people of Bayelsa and Nigeria.

“Look, saints are meant for people who perform miracles spirituality but there are those whom perform miracles physically and if there is someone who performs miracles in Africa, its Goodluck Jonathan. He brought peace to Nigeria, he is still preaching peace, he is well educated. He is going round preaching peace and trying to educate people on the right path to physical democracy. Even the US should learn some exemplary leadership from Goodluck Jonathan.

“People don’t even know his value. The Israelite did not even know the value of Jesus Christ. After 2000 years plus,he is still the major revenue earner of Israel, he is still the person that brings tourism to Israel.

“Nobody in his right frame of  mind will crucify and Ogbia person if he calls then name of Goodluck Jonathan. Nobody will crucify you because he left a befitting legacy.

“So, the man has given us a name, that if we manage it well and we don’t destroy it by our selves, he can become our source of income for  generations to come. Anywhere you go in Africa and mention his name, thy say that peaceful man, okay I can do this for you. So, he opens doors.

Jonathan Eulogized Mama Too:

Also in his tribute to Mama Emesua, the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan described her as being well respected within and outside her community as a devoted woman of faith.

Jonathan said that she  dedicated her life, time and resources in service to God stating that she was an entrepreneur who excelled in all her businesses .

Ha said “ She was a home builder who nurtured her children and those around her to become accomplished and reputable citizens of the society. Mama was a leader among women and made significant impact in her community through her exemplary lifestyle and commitment to the growth of people around her.

 Mama’s Daughter:

In her tribute to her mother, Stella Azibaola Robert remembering the good legacies of her mother said that she was a prayerful and faithful woman who  much believed so much  in prayers.

She said ”Our mama was a precious gift from God. She was my pastor and teacher. Her implicit faith in God during tough times made me realize she was an angel sent to me and my siblings by God. She was was skillful, endowed with wisdom, strength and resilience. She was a farmer, fisherwoman and business woman  she took up jobs that most women would shy away from.

Mama’s Grand Daughter Also:

Yepaye Enaya Robert recounting her fond memories with her grand ma recounted her unending love to her and her siblings.

She said “I wont forget so easily our sweet, memorable relationship, and how you would always talk to my mummy about some decisions. I remember when I was in boarding school and I will always want to return to school on Monday because I didn’t want to leave you after my holidays. You would always convince my mummy to let me stay, no matter my mummy’s resolve to the contrary”

“ You were always there for me. You were my shelter. I could run to you and feel safe at any time, whenever I was in pain”

Take Away:

It was a gathering of who is who in the society both in Bayelsa State and beyond. Although it was the  burial of Mama Egoyinbo but it will all get to our turn one day. It now behooves on all of us to live a good life and leave legacies behind as mama did according to the testimonies of people that came in contact with her. She came , she saw and she conquered. Adieu mama Egoyinbo.
