Search For Common Ground Organizes Training For Civil Society Organizations In Bayelsa

 












Search for Common Ground a peace building organization in the Niger Delta on Monday kick started a four day intensive training for key civil society  organizations in a bid to making sure that the purpose  of her project launched recently in the region is achieved



The capacity building training which started on the 26th of February search explained is geared towards community leaders in the region to effectively address social exclusion, root causes of violence and environmental degradation.




Recall that Search had launched the project named community centered approach to transforming the criminality and violence in the Niger Delta recently in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital, Rivers and Delta.




The project is being sponsored by the European Union and  to be executed by Search for Common Ground in partnership with Stakeholders Democracy Network, Foundation for Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta and Academic Associates Peace Works.





Addressing the participants before the training proper, Yacinthe Agbadjagan, head of programme implementation in Niger Delta said that through this inclusive leadership collaborative approaches and meaningful engagement of marginalized groups, the project will create an impact.



He said " As part of the project implementation strategy, the consortium is undertaking  the "training of trainers (TOT) programme " to being the over arching goal of fostering inclusive community security approaches on Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers.




" By engaging diverse stakeholders, this initiative aims to establish resilient peace archetectures at the grass roots level.




" We urge all the stakeholders to join forces in supporting this initiative for lasting peace and development in the Niger Delta Region.
