Bayelsa Decides: We Are Sure Of Victory: Sylva.

 

The All Progressives Congress in the  Bayelsa State Governoship Election,Timipre Sylva  has said that  he was very confident that  he will come out victorious in the election.

Speaking in Okpoama Brass, after casting his vote at his  unit 4,vward 4 Dukuraku center  open space,   Sylva commented the National Independent Electoral Community for the smooth and fast means of   accreditation and voting but made some reservations on some polling units that he said  some issues arose.

He also alleged that security agencies  collided with PDP in some parts of Yenagoa yo snatch ballot boxes.

Sylva said " I'm very confident that things are going well for the APC, at the end of day  we will come out victorious but we have some issues at unit 3,  5 and 9. The registers were not uploaded so we communicated  it to INEC and they accepted that it was a careless mistake on their part. 

"I'm very confident that in the end we will still carry the day, these are panic measure by the failing party. If they were not failing they will not be banking on the support of the military to snatch ballot boxes. And they can't do this everywhere for instance in my ward they were not able to do that.

"I don't know why those  units were not  upload but I think the problem is being rectified and they promised that in those particular units, they will extend the voting time.Alot of people would have been disenfranchised if that was not rectified but we have been able to escalate it  to Abuja.

"I was very shocked that the carelessness only happened in my ward particularly,  we would have over 4000 voters disenfranchised if it wasn't rectified and you begin to wonder how did this happen only in my ward . INEC in all is making alot of improvement and we believe that there is  room for improvement.

 " So far in my unit, things are going on very well. And around the state, we also are following and there is  a lot of violence that PDP  is doing there, they are trying to molest our voters with security.  Infact in some cases, it is  believed that we are running the election not against the state but against security but we are containing the situation I'm sure that  at the end of the day we will come out victorious.

 "I was told that in Yenagoa especially there are alot of  violence and police action, infact this  morning I woke up with  the news that one of my APC  members  was shot  and about noon, in  Biseni I got the information that it is army people with PDP people that are  snatching ballot boxes but frankly speaking, the security in the state must be called to order. The army is playing on the side of PDP and it  is really unfortunate.
