NDE Trains 50 Niger Delta Youths

 






The Director General Mallam NDE, Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo Coordinator of NDE has flagged off a transformation training scheme for 50 unemployed youths in Bayelsa.




The director who disclosed this in Yenagoa, during the commencement of the training, said the exercise would last for a period of six to 24 months.





 Represented by Mr Aham Osuchukwu, Coordinator of the NDE, he said that under the scheme six skills areas will be covered under the scheme, which are auto mechanic, auto electrician, catering, electrical installation, welding and fabrication.





Fikpo said that the management of the NDE has greatly enhanced their stipends to motivate them and that the 50 selected  trainees cuts across the eight Local Government Area of Bayelsa. 





He said that with the duration and quality training they must come out of the training qualified skill men and women in their various skill areas.





Fikpo admonished the trainees not to look down on themselves and said the objective of the training was to create employment and reduce the number of idle hands in the state.





The Director Vocational Skills Development Department Mallam Isa Abdu, represented by Mrs Modester Ezekwe, admonished the beneficiaries to be greatful to God for granting them the opportunity.





He informed them that the training is a long-term training aimed at exposing them to every rudiment of their skill areas.





"You have nobody to blame if you fail to make every good use of the opportunity given to them. 





"Obey your master trainers so as to imbibe all they would offer you in your skill acquisition quest," he said.






In her vote of thanks, Miss Precious Gwegwe a beneficiary, commended the NDE for the opportunity granted her for the training, promise to be obedient during the training scheme to come out in flying colours.
