As the World Celebrates International Day of Girl Child, James Uba Esile, President and Founder of Fresh Air Movement Imo State, has urged all relevant stakeholders and international organizations to support Girl Child Education.
That he said if done would step up the global movement for young women's economic emancipation.
In a statement by Esile on Tuesday and signed by Hon. J. M. Ekperechi
(Chief Media Press, Fresh Air Movement, Imo State), he said that the celebration would help build the strength and talents of all female children and young women around the world.
He said that the celebration provides another chance to express gratitude to the Governor and his 3R team for their openness and genuine interest in the growth of the State.
The statement read in part "The 21st-century leaders should work hard to take advantage of every chance to ensure that our young girls and young women have the enabling environment for their growth to contribute effectively to society and homes.
"At every stage of their development, it is important to promote social access to basic and high-quality education, fair economic opportunity, and exposure to contemporary soft skills and technology.
"As a representative of the Onuimo State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly and a member of the 10th Legislative Assembly, the 10th Assembly is committed to ensuring that the welfare of girl children and young women is strictly protected.
"I challenges my colleagues to, in their various capacities, be the vanguard for the girl child and provide opportunities for young women to thrive.
"Hon. James Uba Esile, the Fresh Air Movement in Imo State will commence a program called "Education to the Vulnerable Rural Girl-Child" starting in January 2024 as part of ongoing efforts to bring out the best in our female children in the State through quality education and unrestricted economic opportunities.
"The program would be designed to help girls who live in rural areas inside Imo State's 650 autonomous communities, providing them with academic support in the form of books, tuition, tutoring, etc.
He also urged Imolites to vote for Hope Uzodimma in November 11 adding that it will would help him to continue his outstanding administration.
"Yes, Ndi-Imo is taking the re-election bid of the governor in the next November 11 governorship elections due to the winds of support from civil society organizations and across party lines, but it is crucial to note that Senator Hope Uzodimma is a God Sent to Ndi-Imo.
"All of Senator Hope Uzodimma's infrastructure and human development scorecards demonstrate his high caliber as a person.
Recall that Fresh Air Movement is a non-profit organization founded on the fundamental principles of uplifting the masses, carrying out community projects, civic education, promoting gender equality, promoting democracy, and assisting the government among others.
