An industrialist and political leader in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Owerri Zone, Imo State, Okenze S.I. Obinna has called on  the  people of Imo State , especially those from Owerri Zone, to rally round and ensure that  governor  Hope Uzodimma  is re-elected on November 11.

Obinna  also called on the people of Owerri Zone to ignore those  he said that are running against the charter of equity and work for the governor's reelection.

Speaking to newsmen in Owerri at the weekend, he gave reasons  why the people of Imo State  should re-elect Governor Hope Uzodimma for a second term saying that the people of Owerri have made up their minds to support the governor.

He saud that the people of Owerri Zone  have accepted the charter of equity as proposed by the Imo State Council of Elders and accepted by Governor Hope Uzodimma noting that everyone in the state knows the compelling reasons for the governor's re-election on November 11.

Okenze Obinna said he believes that those who love the governor and support his re-election  bid should go back to their polling units and deliver, noting that the governor was bringing political stability in Imo State by accepting the recommendations of the Imo State Council of Elders that the office of the governor should rotate among the three zones of the state.

He expressed optimistism that the governor's good works will get him a second term bid.

He continued "What the governor has done in his first term in office is gaining love and support for him. He has done what the previous governors could not do, and Imo people are happy for it and they are in agreement that if the governor could do so much in the midst of all the distractions, he would do much more in his second term.

"God is using Governor Hope Uzodimma as an instrument to bring political stability to the state. You are aware that as an incumbent governor, he has the right to aspire for re-election, and he has all it takes to win. But in his wisdom and love for the state, he accepted the charter of equity as recommended by the Imo State Council of Elders.

"What this means is that after his second term in office, Orlu Zone will give way for Owerri Zone to produce the governor without the rancour and bitterness associated with governorship election in the state. After Owerri Zone, the leadership will move to another zone. That is the stability the governor is bringing."

He said that candidates from Owerri Zone who are running for the 2023 governorship election are doing so against the advice of the leaders of the zone, and as such, those who oppose the charter of equity will not benefit from it in 2027 because they cannot benefit from what they do not believe in.

The industrialist and political leader also noted that members of the opposition also agree that the governor has done so well and deserves reelection. According to him, he has received testimonies from his friends who are in the opposition, saying that they would vote for the governor because of his performance.

He reiterated that Imo people appreciate the governor's infrastructure revolution and the many other things he has done, such as the Owerri-Okigwe Road, Owerri-Orlu Road, Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Road, Portharcourt Road, Douglas Road, Dick-Tiger Road, Ihechiuwa Road, MCC Road and a lot of others.

The political stability the governor is bringing, the three ultra-modern general hospitals in Ohaji-Egbema, Oguta and Oru East LGAs, his healthcare policy, charter of equity, flood control measures using the balloon technology, the restoration of pipe borne water in Owerri after many years of abandonment, the upgrade and conversion of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education to Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education and the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri to Federal University of Technology Owerri Teaching Hospital (FUTOTH), youth empowerment and skill acquisition programmes, regular payment of salaries and pensions, etcetera he enumarated , are adequate reasons Imo people should re-elect the governor on November 11.
