Nov Guber: Bayelsa Women Show Support For Sylva/Maciver Ticket

 

As Bayelsa Governorship  Election approaches, women from all strata of the state have thrown their eight behind the Candidature of Chief Timipre Sylva and Joshua Maciver of All Progressives Congress.

The women  said that  they were going to vote for the Duo.

 The women who are from Etegwe community in Yenagoa, the market women in Swali market, the Ogoni community in Bayelsa state,  Northern Christian Women Association among others made the declaration when they were  received   by Dr. Mrs. Alayingi Sylva and Mrs. Sarah Maclver, at the APC campaign Secretariat on Friday in Yenagoa.

Ebiere Ebiotu who spoke  on behalf of the market women noted that the present administration of Governor Diri has abandoned the market people. 

She said that  the current administration had abandoned the market women quite unlike during  Sylva’s time where  appointments were given to them.

Also in her remarks, the chairman of Ogoni community in Bayelsa state,  Save Ledum Nubani, the women leader, Mrs. Gift George and other excos  expressed their support for HE Chief Timipre Sylva’s candidature. 

Save Nubani said that the Ogoni Community has never shown interest in any political party or candidate, but added  that they have so much interest in the Sylva/ Maclver ticket.

The  reason he explained was  that Sylva is their son and friend who is tested and trusted stating that his previous administration can never be compared to any in the history of Bayelsa state.

He said "The Ogoni Community who are more than three thousand persons with their PVCs intact will vote for the APC in the November polls.

 Fir the Okutukutu CDC chairman, he  disclosed that no Etegwe son or daughter has a meaningful government employment from this governmnace adding that no good road, no street lights and that Etegwe community is an abandoned community by the Government in Epie kingdom. 

He noted that the only good road in Etegwe was constructed by H.E Chief Timipre Sylva, during his previous administration.

He said though Etegwe community has been a PDP strong hold in the past, the people have reosolve this time to use their PVCs  for the APC candidate because they believe that H.E Sylva will change the narrative in Etegwe community as he has done before.

The Nothern Christian Women Association led by the chairperson, Mrs Anna Elisha promised to use their PVCs to vote for Chief Timipre Sylva and massively mobilize for the APC because of his track records.

 According to her, the PDP has totally killed the state as there is no light, no water and no human capital development.

Responding to the various groups, wife of the APC candidate, Dr. Mrs Alayingi Sylva,  thanked them for coming to show their support and promised that the APC will not disappoint their trust.

She equally charged the various groups to ensure that their households, neighbors, co -)workers, church members, friends, relations and others are convinced to vote for the APC using their PVCs come November eleven.
