I  greet you all this morning, afternoon, evening (depending on your time zone) in the precious name of Jesus Christ.

I bring to you the word of life and the topic for consideration today is: BUT ONE THING IS NEEDFUL

Text: Luke 10:41-42,  Mark 8:36-37

From the first text above, we saw two characters that represents the people of this world ( past, present and future and untill the end of the world). While Martha represents those pursuing the things of this decaying and expired world at the expense of their soul,  Mary on the other hand represent the group perhaps very few that are pursuing, obtaining and retaining that ONE THING  that is NEEDFUL now and in eternity. Let's look at the message under two subheadings.(1) Pursuit of the Things of this Life at the Expense of Your Soul  (2) The One Thing That is Needful

Point 1. Pursuit of the Things of this Life at the Expense of Your Soul

The Bible did not condemn legitimate pursuit of the things of this world such as education, wealth, riches, religious positions, political positions (elective or appointive)  etc but pursuing them at the expense or exchange of your soul - salvation of your soul is the problem. (Matt 6:32-34, Psalm 35:27, Job 22:24, Deu. 28:1-23).The Bible categorically states in Mark 8:36-37 "For what shall it profit a man, woman, boy or girl if he or she gains the whole world and lose his or her own soul in hell fire or what shall a man , woman, boy or girl give in exchange for his or her soul?"

This means, if you get all the educational  degrees or Certificates through hard work or through dubious ways and die without salvation experience, die without being Born Again, the certificates  becomes worthless, useless and inconsequential because it can't take you to heaven.

As parents you tried your possible best to give your children the best  education but failed  to ensure they are born again. Infact you bought them good dresses, text/note books for academic works but you didn't buy them a copy of the Holy  Bible. You did not buy them note book to jot down messages in the Church. They run to school but you accept their flimsy excuses for not following you to Church or involve in the activities of Youth or Campus Fellowship in your Ministry.

Do you know that your child that is not born again is part of the people contributing to the socio-economic and  security problems in the county  and in the whole world? Do you also know that if that your child dies without salvation, he or she will go to hell fire?  And the child that is snobing, rejecting the plea, counsel, preaching of their godly parents and you are saying, you don't have time for God and salvation, you will later understand that life without Christ is full of crises. Have you not heard the biblical injunction in Ecclesiastes 12:1 that says, "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;"  

 It is very disheartening to see many  Home or Foreign Mission Pastors in denominations  involving in religious activities without salvation experience hence they  can live a crafty, pretentious and  fake lives to please their General Overseer or General Superintendent just to retain religious positions in the Church. They can give false number of members,  workers, branches, new comers / new converts, etc  forgetting that every lie before a real Man of God attracts both physical and  spiritual death and eventually  end up in hell fire. (Acts 5:1-10).That is why even after a concern member or group of members have paid for that fellowship centre or provided the need of the branch, they will still come and request and collect the money from their GO/GS in the Headquarter and share the money amongst their cronies.

For others they are busy looking for visa to travel out  of their country and in the course of looking for visa they present false documents, make false statements and claims forgetting that going to any developed country of the world cannot be compared to going to heaven.

There is this my experience many years ago that made me to be very careful and truthful in anything I do or say or write down.  After my salvation experience in December 26, 1986 in Deeper Life Bible Church,  at Tolu School Complex, Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos where I was invited by one Sister Preye  during one of the Ministry's Annual December Retreat under the ministration of one Pastor Akpofure titled: "How to Change Your No to Yes",  about two years later, while filling the form to be interviewed to join the work-force, I wrote that I have gone through the Water Baptismal Class and had been baptized by immersion whereas I wasn't because of the nature of my work at that time. Then I started working for God and so committed. One faithful night, I had a revelation about the Rapture and I didn't make it. When I woke up, I became very sad  and worried that I didn't make the Rapture of the Saints. So I started asking God the reason (s)  and God told me clearly, it is because of the wrong answer concerning Water Baptism. That I should go and  do restitution and start to attend the water baptismal class and be baptized which I did. Shortly after that, I had revelation about Rapture again and I made it. Since that time (I am taking about 1989 after four years of my salvation experience), I  made up my mind to be very careful, sincere  and truthful by God's grace till now.

My friend,  God is REAL, HEAVEN is  REAL and HELL FIRE is also REAL. Keep on playing politics and religious games in that religious organization. Good luck to you.  If money, position, women etc has become your heaven here on earth that you can do anything to get them and retain them, the question is what shall you give in exchange for your never dying soul?

Point 2.  The One  Thing That is Needful

Jesus Christ - the Way, the Truth and the  Life (John 14:6) told Martha, "Thou art careful and troubled about many things: but one thing is needful and Mary hath chosen that good part, ( that one thing that is needful)  which shall not be  taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42

What is that one thing that is needful? It is the Salvation of your soul which comes when you sit down at Jesus' feet  and listen to Him without any distraction and become born again by the water of God's word and by the Spirit of God. John  3:5

Is your soul saved? When , where and how? If you are not sure, don't delay, now is another golden opportunity. Forget your title and position, religious activities or even your  closeness to General Overseer or General Superintendent of your Church and get this one thing that is needful before it is too late.

If making the rapture of the saints or heaven at last is your sincere goal then you need to patiently read this  detailed salvation message below. Don't say it is too lengthy because it is more profitable to read this than engaging yourself in watching videos and  unnecessary discussions that will not prepare you for heaven.

* Detailed Salvation Message

If you are not born again or you are a  backslider or you are reading  this for the  first time, you should repent from your sins and give your  life  to Jesus Christ and accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. John 3:3 says: "Verily , verily I say unto you, Except a man, woman, boy or girl is born again, he or she cannot see or enter the kingdom of God" Rom. 3:23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Rom.  6:1-2 says  "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin  that grace may abound? God forbid ...' and Ezekiel 18:4b  says " The Soul that sinneth, it shall die" 

A sinner is not a Christian and a Christian is not a sinner” as explained in 1Jn. 3:8-10. If you are asking, what is sin? The answer is found in 1Jn. 5:17a which says “All unrighteousness is sin”. And in 1Cor. 6:9-10 and Rom. 1:29-31 you see catalog of unrighteous acts or deeds.

1) I want to let you know that  unbelief, unforgiveness, selfishness are sins. You need to search your life and repent from all of them.

2) It could be that you are into anger, lying, deceit, craftiness, wickedness, disobedience, pride and bitterness, all these are terrible sins in the sight of God. Repent and promise God you will not indulge in them anymore.

3) I don’t know the sin you are committing: Are you into envy, backbiting, gossiping, bearing grudge, or swearing with heaven and earth? All these are sins before God. Repent from them and promise God no more. The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God, Tomorrow may be too late.

4) Are you into jealousy, contention, strife, jesting, tale-bearing, arguing the word of God, or are you a whisperer, repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.

5) Are you into murmuring and complaining, cursing people or you fight and quarrel even as husband and wife? Repent and promise God no more.

6) Are you visiting native doctors or you are one of them, making enchantment, divination or you practice witchcraft including pentecostal and charismatic witchcraft or you are a necromancer: these are terrible wickedness in the sight of God, Repent and God will forgive you.

7) It could be that you belong to cult (secret or open cult, local or foreign cult , village or township cult,  witchcraft or marine cult,  Primary or Secondary School Cult or campus cult) my friend, there is no power there. It is deception from satan. Therefore, repent and come out from cultism, burn all their materials, books and  instruments of initiation. Renounce them and surrender your life completely to Jesus Christ.

8) I don’t know the wickedness you are into. It may be, you are a thief or armed robber, terrorist , kidnapper, or you are into picking pocket or you steal with gun or with pen in your office or you steal God’s money (tithes and offerings) or  from Government and the masses are suffering in the midst of plenty, or you are working and receiving salary/wages with forged certificate (s) / Age Declaration , or you manipulate salary/ wage bill in your organization or you steal from your husband or wife or from your parents. My friend, if you don’t repent and make restitution, hell fire is your portion. Do not harden your heart as you are reading this message.Today is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late.

9) Are you a fraudster or you are a dupe? (You dupe whites, blacks or even government and companies or individuals). You are a sinner. If you don’t repent, hellfire is awaiting  you.

10) Are you into ritual killing, hired assassin, or you are involved in character assassination spreading false news or manufacture lies and start spreading it to destroy the innocent or you are a terrorist and you are making money through all these evil means mentioned, if you like give those ill gotten wealth/ monies/ riches  to help people or sponsor church projects or pay tithes and offerings etc , if you die without repentance and restitution,  you are going to hell fire.

Don't  waste your time giving  tithes or offerings with ill-gotten monies.  Don’t  even sow seed to a so- called man of God or pastor  or to any Church with those ill-gotten wealth. Return the money to the owners or to government  or to the  company. Such monies are not needed in the Church of the living God. Are you among those who  after stealing much from the Church purse or establishments,  you used part of the the money you have stolen to come out to sow seed in front of the General Overseer to deceive the Man of God in other to gain favour and retain your position in the church.  Repent and make restitution else hell fire is waiting for you. 

11)  I don’t know the wickedness you are into. It may be you are into masturbation, fornication, adultery, killing unborn babies or you aide abortion,  Are you a lesbian or homosexual? Are you making laws in your state or country to legalize these atrocities, God's judgement is already hanging upon you. These are terrible wickedness in the sight of God. Therefore repent and promise God, no more.

12) Are you into prostitution, public or private or corporate and you are selling your body which is the temple of God for money? Or you are into child trafficking, Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ.

13) Are you into fighting and quarrelling, you beat your wife or as a wife because  of your  muscular strength you beat your husband.  Are you also into disobedience and stubbornness? All these are sins before God. Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ, the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

14) All those that give or take bribe or extort money from others because of their uniform and gun or through fake prophecies as a religious man or woman or intercessor  you should be contented with your salary/wages or what you have.  Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ today.

15) Are you an employee and you don’t keep to the resumption time or you come late and write different time? Are you in the work-place but  you are not doing the work? Are you just interested in collecting salary for work you did not do or are you an employer and you don’t pay those working for you? These are terrible sins before God. You need to search your life and amend your ways.

 16) I don’t know the wickedness you are into, all those people that take cigarette, snuff, Indian hemp, cocaine, heroin, marijuana and other destructive drugs these are terrible sins before God.

17) Are you into drinking alcoholic drinks whether it contained ½% or 1% alcohol? It is sin, you take hot gin, ogogoro, white bimbo, burukutu, local or foreign it is a sin. Are you selling them or you are buying for people? Are you working in breweries or tobacco Companies where these things are produced or being distributed and advertised, resign and give your life to Jesus Christ and God will show you mercy. Are you the one giving them license to produce, manufacture and disseminate these things to destroy humanity, repent else God’s judgment is already hanging on you.

18) Are you into wrong marriage? You marry and divorce. That is sin. Marriage is between a man and a woman and it is until death do you part. Are you into polygamous marriage? As a man, you marry 2, 3, 4, 5 wives or even more; that is sin. You need to amend and do restitution by sending 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th wives away and retain only the 1st wife. As a woman if you are the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th wife, that is not your home. Infact you are a husband snatcher and you are a thief. As you are reading this message , prepare to pack your bags and baggage and return to your parents and wait for your rightful husband. If your first wife or husband is still alive and you have divorced him or her, make peace and reconcile. You can’t enter heaven with enmity or unsettled matters. Amend your ways and God will show you mercy (Matt. 19:4-6)

19) Are you among those that are bleaching your body and becoming yellow over night? (man or woman) Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ. Are you into painting of different parts of your body? You paint your face (black, yellow, blue, red); you paint your lips, finger and toe nails or you fix extra (artificial) eyelids, extra finger and toe nails, you put on attachment, weave-on erring, bangle and other jewelries like necklace, waist ban, these are Jazebelistic properties from marine kingdom and they are the attires of harlots. " And behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart" ( Proverbs 7:10) And only a spoilt woman, lady or girl that put them on to carry out dangerous mission for satan and its kingdom. Ps 139:14, says "God has fearfully and wonderfully created you" and you don’t need any make-up at all because Jer. 4:30 says "And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life"

 

20) Are you among those women or ladies or girls that are putting on worldly dresses to seduce men? You design clothes that show delicate parts of your body like your breast, chest, back, laps etc. A seducer is not a Christian and a Christian is not a seducer.Cover your body properly.

21) Are you a young man that is doing Jerry-Coil, sagging, or you scatter your hair, or  you plait your hair and even put on earrings like women. Infact you are deeply possessed with effeminate spirit and it is also a sign that you are into homosexual or into gay marriage. Repent and give your life to Jesus Christ before it is too late.

22) Are you a woman, lady or girl putting on men’s garment, you put on trousees or as a man you are putting on woman’s garment (putting on skirt and blouse) that is an abomination in the sight of God. Deut. 22:5 says " The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman 's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God" And  abominable people cannot enter heaven but shall be cast into the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8, 27)

I did not say these things to condemn you but the aim is to let you know what sin is all about and also show you the way to be free and escape hell fire. God in His love has made provision for your salvation. Exo 12:13. The blood of the lamb referred here is a symbolic of the real Lamb of God (Jesus Christ) who was to come to wash away our sins. It is written that the blood of goats and sheep only covers sins but cannot takes (wash) away sin. John 1:29 Behold,  the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the whole world"  The Lamb of God ... (Referring to Who? It is referring to Jesus Christ. It is written, “without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin” (Heb. 9:22), hence God in His infinite love and mercy sent Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the whole world. Jn. 3:16 says " For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" and in John 19:30, Jesus said “it is finished”. That is the end of all sacrifices for sin He said “it is finished” in John 14:6 Jesus said I am “the” Way, the Truth and the Life. “The” He did not say, I am “A” way. This means no other way only through Jesus Christ we can be saved (Acts 4:12) In John 10:10b Jesus said “I come that you might have life and have it more abundantly” And in John 8:36 it says, “Therefore, if the Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed” And in Matt. 11:28 Jesus says “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and heavy laden” and I will give you rest. In John 1:12 it says, “But as many that received Him (received Who?)Jesus Christ, to them gave He power to become the sons and daughters of God. Power of sonship shall be given unto you the moment you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. And in 2Cor. 5:17. If any man (man/woman, boy or girl) be in Christ (not be a church member, be a pastor or a leader in the church, be close to the General Overseer or wife of the General Overseer, be involved in Church activities or be  a Church founder etc ) but it says if any man (from any tribe and any part of the world) be in Christ, he or she is a new creature, old things (old lifestyle of sin) will pass away and all things are become new. That is why the Bible says in Matt. 7:20-23 "Wherefore,  by their fruits (by your  lifestyle, conduct and character NOT by performing miracle, signs, wonders giving of prophecies) we shall know them"-  whether you make heaven or not.

We can’t live the life of righteousness and holiness by  our own power but by the power of God’s grace made available for us. That is why Paul the apostle says "I am what I am by the grace of God" (1Cor.15:10),  "I can do all things through Christ which  strengtheneth  me" Philippians 4:13

Through Jesus Christ and the grace He supplies,  living a righteous life becomes easy in this wicked world. Titus 2:11, 12  says " For the grace of God that bringeth  salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that , denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present  world"

What is expected of you now is to:

1) Acknowledge your sinfulness Ps. 51:3; Rom. 3:23

2) Confess and forsake all known and unknown sins before God and promise Him, you will not continue in them (Prov. 28:13) Raising up  your hands or responding to Altar Call  for salvation every service day or during crusade  is making mockery of the grace of God. (Rom. 6:1, 2) 

3) You believe the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, His death on the Cross, burial, resurrection and ascension to heaven (Rom. 10:7-10)

4) Call upon the name of the Lord in prayer for it is written in Rom. 10:13 'For whosoever  shall  call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved' 

Let us  pray. Call upon the name of the Lord, confess and forsake your sins. Promise God, you will not continue in them. Today is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late.

SALVATION PRAYER

All of you giving your  lives to Jesus Christ in Nigeria  or any part of the world should signify by raising up your  hands and repeat these words after me.

Almighty God

I come before you in the name of Jesus Christ

Father, I confess that I am a sinner

All my sins, I confess them to you

Father, I am very sorry for all my sins

Lord, I promise you

I will never continue in my sins any more. From today,

I confess and believe that Jesus Christ died for me

He shed His precious blood for me and He was buried

And on the third day 

He rose again for my justification 

Almighty God

Use the blood of Jesus Christ

And wash my sins away from my heart

 I plead the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ Come into my heart Be my Lord

Be my personal Saviour, Cancel my name in the book of death and  write my name in the book of life. Give me power to sin no more

The merciful and compassionate God, it is never Your will that any of these souls should perish and go to hell fire. Whatsoever they have done against you and humanity, known and unknown to them, please, in your wrath, remember mercy. It is written, “Mercy rejoices over judgment” therefore, whatever judgment passed on them, by Your mercy let it be cancelled in Jesus name. (Say Amen!) Every yoke or power that makes them to do evil, by your authority and power, I break the yoke of sin in Jesus name. (Say Amen)  From today, I claim their spirit, soul and body for Jesus Christ. Father, now, cancel their names in the book of death and write their names in the book of life. Give them power to sin no more in Jesus name( say amen ) Give them power and grace to live a righteous life from now till we make Heaven in Jesus name. (Say Amen!) 

Can I hear you say Amen! Say it again. And it is Amen in Heaven.

Congratulations.

Now that you are born again, you need to do the following:

1) You need a copy of the Bible (King James Version more preferable) and start to read, study and meditate upon it from time to time. Joshua 1:8 

2)  Make sure you develop the habit of praying to God and observe personal Quiet Time early in the morning and in the evening Luke 18:1 Mark 1:35 Philippians 4:6

3) Tell others especially your friends, neighbors, former sin partners etc of your salvation experience so that they will know you are now a different person and resist the temptation from them, satan and its agents aimed at making you to go back to the world. Mark 16:15-20 This should be your favorite song: I have decided to follow Jesus, No turning back, no turning back, Let them take the whole world and give you Jesus, you are satisfied and no turning back, The world behind you, the Cross/Heaven before you, no turning back, no turning back, Though no one joins you to follow Jesus Still you will follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back, Let them take the  position, money and things of this world but give me Jesus, Holiness, Heaven, I am satisfied and no turning back no turning back. "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." Luke

4) Pray to God to lead you or help you to find a Bible believing Church and attend so you fellowship with brethren of like precious faith and grow spiritually and otherwise Hebrews 10:25, Ephesians 4:11-16
