We will Establish ANAN Club in All Nigerian Universities/Polytechnics: Neminebor.

The 13th President of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Dr James Neminebor revealed that one of his mandated as the 13thp presidentof the association will be to establish ANAN Clubs in all the Universities and Polytechnics in the Country.

This he said will warrant every stakeholder in accountancy department in any Nigerian university and polytechnic know about ANAN before they even graduate.

Speaking in a press brief at the weekend in Yenagoa Bayelsa state, heralding his reception  as the 13th president of the association,  hea said that he will also give the women more voice in the council adding that  he will strengthen the existing ANAN branches across the country while establishing more in the diaspora.

Neminebor also agreed to build more international affiliations stating that he will also focus on infrastructural development while organizing practitioner’s forum and ensure the provision of digital capacity and technology transformation.

He however asked his members to ensure that all hands were on deck in the next twenty four months that he will be the president to enable the association witness growth, visibility, development and workers welfare.

He said” The good thing about ANAN is that it does not have an individual vision. It is a collective vision. A vision that anybody who comes to the presidency must follow. That is why a man who will become the president will be in the tutelage for eight years learning the mandate.

“That is to make you learn what it is to be president of ANAN. That is why ANAN is succeeding. ANAN ideas is like a long term plan. You may have your personal introductions and in my idea, I have added those little ones I think that I will work on. All I need to do is to build on the successes of the past presidents.

“They have succeeded and I’m going to build on them. But in my years, the first thing I want to do is to get the visibility of ANAN into all the universities and polytechnics in Nigeria so that there won’t be nos student who will say I don’t know about ANAN.

“ANAN will assist the club, grow the club and we will make ANAN veryv visible in all Nigerian universities and polytechnics. For a start, we  intend to   take one university and one polytechnic one from each zone. We will experiment it for one year and in my second year, if we see the success of it, we will add more.

“We also intend to add more voices of women in our council.  I have only two women in the council and I feel bad. Two women facing about fourteen other men. We intend to bring   more of them so that the women too can have a voice.

“We intend to digitalize every aspect of ANAN from administration to the way we do our things. After the second council, we will have a complete E meeting. We will have a paperless meeting. Everybody will enter the meeting with IPADS.

“Many of the accountancy professors that we have in this country belong to ANAN. I know we have up to 95% of ANAN professors in thisc country

“When ANAN came into being, we resolved to college our associationw where as others we saying come and sit for exams. We said no, there is nothing like correspondence. We will send you to a college and we founded a college in Jos. So that if you want be in a college, you pass through a system, sit for your exams and go through accounting in training and after that you come for induction and you become a member.

“Passing the college does not make you a member. Those are the stepsw we take in ANAN. We thought that as a professional body, we should have headquarter and we have a big headquarter in Lagos and we bought another four storey building in Abuja.

“In ANAN, we bring what we intend to do at the council and council will look at them and approve. We can never say that we have beat other professional bodies. No. We are doing our best to succeed.

Speaking earlier, the Bayelsa state branch chairman of ANAN, Prince OmoteteAmgbare thanked all for coming to  honour the  13th presidento  of ANAN.

He said   “We feel so happy not only the South South but the entiren national council and Bayelsa state branch. We thank God that an Ijawm manhas got to this position to go and portray our good image to theworld. I thank all of you for coming to support our president in everya angle He said.
